OIT has an immediate need for an exceptional individual to join our organization as an application Quality Assurance/Tester to help us deliver excellent software for our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, critical thinking skills, possesses leadership skills, and is committed to delivering successful and quality work products that completely address Business Unit requirements. This opportunity is based in Frankfort, KY.

QA Position Description

  • Active Role as a Tester in TDD (Test Driven Development), Functional / Integration, Regression, and UAT Testing initiatives
  • Develops, executes and maintains software test plans
  • Develop manual test scripts for user interface, functionality, and system testing
  • Execute regression tests, functional tests and data tests
  • Log bugs/issues via an issue tracking tool, and help determine priority of reported bugs
  • Provide internal Quality Assurance
  • Provide clear reporting on test plan results
  • Report on progress of the test process
  • Ability to manage change during the test process
  • Verification testing in production to ensure the changes were properly installed
  • Maintains documentation of test results to assist in validation and modification of software
  • Administration of test control and statistics collection (i.e. defect tracking)

Desired Experience

University Degree in a relevant technical field

A combination of experience and education may be substituted

  • General IT Experience
  • Understanding, and hands-on experience with Application Development Lifecycle
  • Agile and Iterative Development processes
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS)/Automation scripting using TFS
  • Exposure to MS SQL or MySQL preferred
  • Programming experience a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of experience with Quality Assurance Manual Testing
  • IT Application testing experience
  • Defect management and reporting systems knowledge
