Job Description:
Assigning Tariff Classifications to our products for over 10 countries. Deliver a minimum daily average of 35 classifications monthly. Attain a minimum of 95% classification accuracy on a quarterly basis. Management of Customs record-keeping requirements, where applicable. Assist in drafting responses to Customs government inquiries, prepare analysis and material for review with supervisor on Customs legal reviews, and assist in the facilitation of information between Caterpillar and Customs governmental officials for both written communication and meetings, as needed.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

•     Assigning Tariff Classifications to our products for over 10 countries.
•     Deliver a minimum daily average of 35 classifications monthly.
•     Attain a minimum of 95% classification accuracy on a quarterly basis.

 

Typical task breakdown:

  • Assign/validate tariff classifications from live requests and reports following defined processes.
  • Respond to escalated classification requests.
  • Communicate with Engineers to understand and/or supplement required technical information for products.
  • Support team members (discussing classifications, assist with projects, etc.)
  • Occasionally attend a meeting or two, usually directly related to tariff classification.


Education & Experience Required:

  • College degree preferred (Associates or Bachelor).
  • Custom Broker License preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
