As a Systems Engineer III with the Vulcan Stow Controls team, you’ll drive the development and optimization of advanced controls systems for complex robotic workcells powering high-volume fulfillment centers. Required Skills
Extensive experience designing and developing industrial controls systems, including PLC and HMI applications.
Proven ability to integrate hardware components such as drives, barcode readers, servo systems, and remote sensors.
Strong proficiency in multiple IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
Advanced system troubleshooting capabilities with a methodical, data-driven approach.
Solid understanding of industrial network protocols including EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and Profinet.
Experience implementing and improving system performance metrics for throughput, availability, and quality.
Nice to Have Skills
Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
Prior work with AWS technologies or cloud-integrated automation systems.
Experience deploying or managing machines across large-scale, geographically distributed environments.
Knowledge of multi-axis coordinated motion and advanced robotics integration.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related field).
5–7 years of experience in controls engineering or systems engineering, preferably within industrial automation or robotics.
Other Requirements
This role is fully onsite (5 days per week) at the Seattle, WA facility.
Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality work under tight timelines.
