Description:
Summary: The main
function of a data engineer is to ensure that the data assets of an
organization are supported by an architecture that supports the organization in
achieving its strategic goal. A typical data engineer is responsible for
setting enterprise standards for databases, data integration, and the means to
get to the data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct
programmers and analysts to make changes.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify
identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding
descriptions.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer
service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Basic knowledge of logical data modeling and physical data modeling.
- Basic knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in computer programming or a relevant field required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-4 years experience required.

Typical task breakdown:
- Participate in receiving and tracking of Client substance compliance
customer requests
- Conduct substance analysis process using Client material specifications (1E
material specifications)
- Assist in maintenance of metrics on Chemical Management customer requests
- Support tool & database development by providing end user needs for
system requirement development (Material Content Tool, 1ESpec Libraries, TcSC,
CDS, SnowFlake, etc.)
Interaction with team:
- Individual will work closely with team members and project lead to
identify workload priorities, changes in work requirements, updates to
governing standards, and customer needs.
Work environment:

Education & Experience Required:
- AAS or Bachelors required
- 2-4 years experience required.
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office base programs (Excel, Word,
Powerpoint)
- Excel experience (pivot tables, formula creation & execution)

- Ability to complete detailed data analysis
- Mechanical print reading
