We are looking for a strategic Data Governance and Process Excellence Lead to assess, document, and modernize our organization’s data ecosystem. This is a high impact role responsible for ensuring that our data, from supplier inputs to retail outputs, is accurate, secure, and actionable. You will lead a five-phase transformation project: discovering existing data landscapes, mapping complex workflows, and designing a future state governance framework that supports our growth as a leading retail cooperative.
Discovery and Inventory: Lead stakeholder interviews across departments to identify data origins, owners, and pain points. Create a comprehensive inventory of all critical data assets. Process Mapping: Develop detailed visual blueprints of data flows across various enterprise systems, identifying where data is created, modified, and stored. Quality Assessment: Evaluate current data inputs for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Identify risks, redundancies, and inefficiencies in the current data lifecycle. Strategy and Design: Architect a future state governance model, including data policies, standards, and accountability structures for data stewardship. Roadmap Execution: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor data health and produce a prioritized implementation roadmap for long term data excellence.
Expertise in Data Frameworks: Deep understanding of data governance principles and data quality control mechanisms. Process Engineering: Proficiency in process mapping tools like Lucidchart or Visio and the ability to translate complex workflows into clear diagrams. Analytical Mindset: Ability to perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies and provide structural solutions rather than temporary fixes. Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interview both technical engineers and non technical business leads. Education and Experience: 5 or more years in Data Governance, Data Architecture, or Business Process Management. Experience in retail, supply chain, or cooperatives is a significant plus.
Data Asset Inventory: A centralized registry of all organizational data. End to End Process Maps: Documentation of data movement through the enterprise. Governance Framework: A playbook defining data ownership and standards. Monitoring Dashboard: A KPI framework to track data quality in real time. Implementation Roadmap: A phased plan for technology and policy rollouts. Â
