Summary:
We’re in search of an experienced Data Scientist 4 with strong expertise in SQL, Python, Power BI, and marketing experimentation to support Player Lifecycle Marketing initiatives within a large AAA gaming studio. This role will focus on lifecycle campaign analysis, A/B testing, causal inference, and executive-ready insight storytelling to drive engagement, retention, and monetization outcomes.

Job Description

  • Analyze lifecycle marketing campaigns and evaluate the impact of A/B tests and evergreen initiatives on engagement, retention, and monetization metrics.
  • Perform data exploration, profiling, and proof-of-concept table creation to support improvements in the production data environment.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI to communicate Player Lifecycle Messaging (PLM) performance and campaign impact.
  • Develop and maintain causal inference frameworks to measure statistically significant campaign impact.
  • Provide clear recommendations on optimizing campaigns, prioritizing “what to do next” with estimated business impact.
  • Translate complex analyses into executive-ready narratives answering: What happened? Why? So what? Now what?
  • Create lifecycle funnel frameworks and help stakeholders understand tradeoffs across engagement and monetization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, PM, and engineering teams to define success metrics, measurement strategies, and instrumentation needs.
  • Deliver experiment readouts, QBR summaries, dashboards, and one-pagers tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

MUST HAVE Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of strong SQL experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of Python experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience presenting data insights to stakeholders
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience building dashboards (Power BI preferred)
  • Strong experience with A/B testing, statistical significance analysis, and causal inference
  • Experience working with marketing analytics and lifecycle campaign measurement
  • Excellent communication and insight storytelling skills

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SparkSQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer
  • Experience with PySpark
  • Experience with marketing tools such as Braze, Salesforce, or CleverTap
  • Experience in gaming or strong interest in the gaming industry
