Job Description:
Responsible for design and development of engine mounted cooling
components.
Responsibilities include creating technical specifications, conducting DFMEA’S/
DVP&R and releasing the part.
Scope includes NPI, cost reduction, and current production.
Communicate with other engineering team members, GSND, suppliers, and
customers.
Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality,
cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics.
Some travel (less than 10%) to suppliers and Client manufacturing
facilities is required.
Organization: LPSD’s Cooling Products
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
Design and develop engine cooling component development for LPSD within Client,
Support LPSD diesel engine programs.
Interaction with team:
Significant interaction with Tech leads, engine platform teams, process
partners like simulation teams, purchasing etc
Typical Day:
Responsibilities include current product issue resolution , coordinating all
supplier related activities, creating technical specifications, conducting
design FMEA's, developing component DVP&R's, maintaining project plans,
presenting formal design reviews, procuring prove design hardware, coordinating
validation testing and analysis activities cost reduction activities, and
releasing drawings and solid models.
Education Requirements:
B.S. in Mechanical , Aerospace or Agricultural Engineering and 1-3 years’
experience working in Component design and validation.
Technical Skills:
Creo experience
1-3 years of experience in component design
Experience working with suppliers
Desired:
Working knowledge of Teamcenter and APQP, Previous supplier CPPD experience,
Mechanical fatigue knowledge, FEA (Finite Element Analysis) knowledge
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and organization skills. Good analytical and problem
solving skills
