Design Engineer 2 - (3872-1)   
Southfield, MI - Onsite 
8 Months Contract 

Responsibilities
- Manage the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production.
- Create cutting edge parts for interior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency
- Work interactively within a cross functional studio, marketing and vehicle engineering teams, understanding the business case of each particular project
- Develop and implement benchmarking and testing plans and activities to deliver a continued improvement in product.

Qualifications 
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle interior trim accessories or SVO (special vehicle operations) design & development. This includes design related experience with at least some of the following areas:
- Interior ornamentation
- Brightware
- Mechanisms
- Soft goods
- Previous experience and background in solving complex technical issues and challenges.
- Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
- Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
- High and Low Volume Production methods.
- Launch experience.

Education 
- Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
