The Director of Data Governance is responsible for establishing, maintaining and following a data management strategy that is aligned with organization strategy, approved by all relevant stakeholders, communicated across the organization, and reflected in architecture, technology and business planning. This position will act as the primary liaison between business team for data management and data governance issues and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor data quality, identify data quality issues, oversee remediation plans, implementation of data controls, and manage data quality remediation strategies
  • Create, manage and facilitate a Data Policy Governance process to identify and understand the critical data issues in terms of business impact/risk/opportunity and ensure data policy enforcement and compliance
  • Define data quality strategy, create and manage data quality working group, define necessary governance, manage budget and resources assigned to the program and will be the ultimately accountable for achieving the goals defined in the plan
  • Work closely with our Legal, Information Security, Engineering and Analytics teams to document our data mapping in a tool, and continue to own it ongoing, ensuring GDPR and related privacy compliance
  • Implement and maintain tool for data governance and lineage working with various business stakeholders (Collibra/waterline etc)
  • Design data quality rules using Privacy by Design approach for compliance across state, federal and international regulations (GDPR)
  • Stay abreast of data protection regulation and work with WWE teams to ensure compliance according to best practices and business priorities
  • Responsible for management of reference data in enterprise data warehouse to ensure that reporting across the organization is consistent


  • 7 + years experience in Data Governance
  • 3 + years of experience working with Data Management platforms
  • Extensive practical experience in product management and agile methodologies
  • Experience in working with Big Data including web analytics, content data such as Youtube and Social data
  • Experience implementing a data governance tool such as collibra/Waterline
  • Understand PII standards, processes, and security protocols
  • Relevant college degree in Computer Science (or related technical field) preferred
