Summary: The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
- Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
- Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
- Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
- Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
Skills:

- Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 5-7 years experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Position is for a support engineer / lead engineer within Client Camera component team.
- Engineer will be responsible for performance tests, environmental tests and collaborating with process partners are product alignment to core system goals.
- The team is needing additional personnel due to number of camera products under development and the speed with which we are trying to execute with these development projects.

We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Client Technology Division as a Camera Component Engineer at our Chillicothe, IL offices to support the technical development and deployment of new camera platforms for advanced technology deployment on our Client machines.
Why this Role?
As Camera Component Engineer you are responsible for specifying product that aligns with our corporate needs, then work with a third party provider to design, develop and qualify the camera product for Client autonomous, automated, safety and base machine systems. The camera product line provides a great opportunity for an engineer to interact with a wide breadth of Client machines and use cases.
Typical task breakdown:
- Performance tests – executed either in lab or in the field behind building
- Environmental tests – executed in Clienttest facility or at a third party test facility in Chicago-land
- Test plan / test report creation – executed in office environment and reviewed with more senior engineers.
- Investigating and troubleshooting technical issues related to the camera components.
- Requirements development – gaining voice of process partners, lessons learned and documenting for review with senior engineers and with process partner
Interaction with team:
- Routine team meetings for project coordination, sits with alongside fellow engineers for impromptu discussion, coordinate with process partners who may be in another building – either traveling to them or meeting on the phone.
Team Structure
- Platform lead owns the project, technical lead owns the technical execution, support engineer provides support across multiple products / platform leads
Work environment:
- Desk is in an office environment, with cubicles along with rest of section.
- Majority of the labs utilized are within the same office building, some are at a third party when time is critical.
- Some tests are executed outdoors on test vehicle or Client machine.
Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: 5-7 YEARS
- Degree requirement: Electrical Engineering or applicable engineering degree with experience

- Product experience – experience in the electronics development world, particularly with camera or ADAS sensor technologies and application of the technology

Additional Technical Skills

- Ability to create test plans, conduct environmental and performance tests and create test reports of cameras or ADAS type sensors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and investigate technical issues utilizing computer aided tools, multi-meters and/or oscilloscopes at component or PCBA level.
