Controls Engineer 4 (Electrical Engineer)

12 months contract
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Provide submittal packages to Client customers on medium and low voltage switchgear
- Provide technical support to the Sales team
- Provide project historical information to the Engineering team
Typical task breakdown:
- Review customer specifications and drawings
- Design switchgear and controls utilizing AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan
Interaction with team:
- Consult with team on applying past solutions
- Incorporate guidance from Applications Engineers on drawing formats and corrections
- Advise Applications Engineers on project challenges
- Review comments with engineers to revise submittal drawings
Team Structure
- Working with 9 engineers and 4 CAD designers (2 remotely located)

Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: 8 years
- Degree requirement: EE or Electrical Technology Bachelor’s required. Other degrees may be considered if switchgear design experience is clearly demonstrated on resume
- Relevant Master’s (electrical engineering focus only) considered with at least five years’ experience
- Non-EE focused master’s or above relevant projects or internships will be considered toward requirement but durations must be listed on resume.
- Candidates without a Bachelor’s will be considered with a minimum ten years’ experience with switchgear and PLC experience.

Additional Technical Skills

- Interpret customer specifications.
- Present clear detailed designs for production engineers to execute.
- Experience in the design of low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Research new part requirements, read manuals and contact vendors to ensure successful implementation.
- Detailed understanding of protective relays, their functions and proper applications.
- Basic understanding of PLC / SCADA communications networks and protocols.
- Have a detailed understanding of NEC, UL, ANSI and other standards.
- Basic understanding of generator controls and limitations.
(Desired)
- Experience with Client generator sets is a plus.
- Experience controlling multiple generators which parallel to one or more utilities is a plus.
