Job Description 
Summary: The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards.

Job Responsibilities:
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
- May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 5-7 years experience required.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:  
- This position is for a Quality/Test Engineer to support the Detect Application group within the Cat Robotics division. The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features on embedded electronic controls for use in safety detect machine applications. 

Job responsibilities include: 
- Detect feature development in embedded C++, Linux, GitHub
- Issue resolution through triage and troubleshooting
- Agile Sprint environment
- Validation plan development
- Coordination with a global team of machine, systems, software, and validation teams
- Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse work group

Education & Experience Required: 
- Years of experience: 5-7 years experience required. Masters Degree – 5 years relevant experience; BS Degree – 7 years experience
