Description
We’re looking for a pragmatic and thoughtful engineering leader to help scale
our platform, development practices, and team.
About The Role
We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Services team.
This team is at the core of our platform enablement function, ensuring
all teams are able to deliver with high velocity and quality, with the best
tools.
In this role, you’ll manage a team of software engineers and serve as a
technical leader within the team’s technical domains.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering to grow technical
leadership and further develop a highly engaged, high-performing team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON:
- Lead
& Mentor: Manage a team of 3–6
full stack software engineers, providing coaching for technical
excellence, fostering individual career growth, and nurturing a culture of
trust and deep collaboration.
- Drive
Velocity: Lead your team to deliver consistently against
ambitious goals. You'll define success metrics, track progress
transparently, and communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure
alignment and celebrate wins.
- Own
a Complex Domain: Own the technical direction and long-term vision
for the team. Ensure designs are architecturally sound, scalable, secure,
and align with our established patterns.
- Evolve
our Architecture: Guide your team's efforts in evolving our
Python/Django monolith towards a more modular, testable, and maintainable
architecture that can support the scale and complexity of modern financial
products.
- Develop
Future Leaders: Mentor senior engineers and team leads, actively
supporting the growth of the next generation of engineering leaders at the
company.
- Collaborate
Broadly: Work with partners across the
organization—including our Security, Platform, and Data teams—to deliver
robust, high-quality, and compliant software solutions.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Proven
Leadership: 5+ years of software engineering experience,
including at least 3 years in a direct people management role.
- Modern
SaaS Experience: Experience
building scalable, customer-facing SaaS products using modern technologies
(we use Python/Django, TypeScript/React, AWS, and Kubernetes).
- AI
& ML: Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering,
RAG architectures, vector databases (Databricks/pgVector), and agentic AI
frameworks (LangChain, Google ADK, or similar)
- Architectural
Acumen: Strong experience with software design
principles and patterns. You have a proven track record of evolving
large-scale applications and guiding teams through technical complexity.
- Strategic
Thinker: You have experience working with legacy
codebases and know how to make pragmatic, strategic decisions to untangle
complexity and improve both the engineering experience and customer value.
- Agile
& DevOps Mindset: Strong knowledge of agile development practices,
CI/CD, test automation, and building for observability.
Preferred:
- Experience
with model fine-tuning, RLHF, or custom model training
- Knowledge
of frontend frameworks (React) for full-stack contributions is a plus.
- Familiarity
with MLOps practices, tools and metrics (MLflow, Precision & Recall,
etc.)
- Background
in specific domains like NLP, multi-modal LLM, or document processing
- Open-source
contributions or technical writing/speaking experience
- Experience
with real-time AI systems or streaming data architectures
Why This Role is Exciting:
- You’ll
shape the foundation of next era of innovation and scale.
- You’ll
lead our humble, smart and creative Data Engineering and AI team.
- You’ll
drive modernization and enable the Data and AI engineering team to move
faster and more confidently.
You’ll be a part of a supportive, people-first culture that values curiosity, autonomy, growth, and innovation
