Position: Grant Budget Analyst

Location: Nashville, TN

Duration: 6 months contract

 Pay Rate upto $22/hr on W2

Job Description:

**Shift 1: 8:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST (Regular Shift)

Client is accepting applications for a Grant Budget Manager position in the Office of Primary Prevention, located in Nashville, TN (with work-from-home options). The Grant Budget Manager will work with the Office’s Grant Manager, internal partners, and external partners to conduct analyzing, monitoring, and reporting for the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant and the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness budgets. This position will report directly to and assists the Built Environment Coordinator to maintain accurate financial records throughout all stages of the grant periods. The Grant Budget Manager will also provide general budget support to program staff and grant management team members.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide overall management of all grant budget monitoring activities, including updating budget expenditures, preparing and disseminating reports on budget progress, managing timelines, reviewing budgets for grant contracts, submitting invoices, and collaborating with program, department staff, and external partners.

Create effective system to track budget expenditures.

Ensure budget compliance with funder regulations. 

Coordinate with team members and external partners for budget revisions.

Collaborate with team members on progress reports for the funder. 

Attend, organize, and/or facilitate project meetings.

Perform other duties related to grant budget management.

 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree with a degree in accounting, finance, or related field AND at least three years of professional experience, OR at least four years of professional budget/finance experience, OR at least four years of professional budget related experience with the State of Tennessee.

Experience working with federal grants is preferred.

 

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

Training/education and interest in finance and/or public health

Experience providing finance assistance and budget support for programs

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify numerical errors

Experience with purchase orders/requisitions and invoicing

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook 

Experience working with REDCap preferred but not required

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with diverse team members and partners.
