This position is based in San Pedro – Los Angeles, CA 90731 and its 100%
onsite.
The candidate must have experience in
“Maritime/Cargo/container terminals”, preferably fully automated terminals,
deep technical knowledge of IT and OT (operational technology).--
Good stakeholder management, calm under pressure, ability to build a strong team, matrix organization, collaborative, good at conflict management, and understand that the terminal runs 24x7, and as IT, we are accountable for the 99.9% uptime of the terminal.
Team size of 10 members plus working with regional and global tech teams
Job Description
- The hands-on “Head of IT
Infrastructure Technology” manages operational availability of Technology
Infrastructure network, Technology Infrastructure systems, and technology
Service vendors.
- The candidate must have
hands-on skills, capability to manage, to implement, and operate IT
infrastructure area, preferably in a multi-national company.
- The candidate must be
highly knowledgeable with industrial infrastructure networks in large
enterprises, virtualization, compute system and technology solutions from
Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Meraki and other global providers.
- This role will provide
hands on Technology Infrastructure management and support, available for
on-call L2 support, manage and support local IT team members as well as
other cross-functional departments. You will help resolve implementation
and integration issues using your competence, use local and remote teams,
use service providers, and communicate with Sr management to drive
business objectives.
- Manage IT Infrastructure
Network & Systems, people, supervision, scheduling, development,
evaluation, and local team.
- Responsible for
industrial network competence, virtualization, monitoring & management
systems, wireless and endpoint configuration, design and management.
- Competence to evaluate
requirements for new infrastructure technologies, services, or
infrastructure components.
- Implement an approach of
addressing reliability, security, performance, and infrastructure best
practices.
- Manage, deliver, and own
know how and understanding of inter-system protocols (SQL Connections,
RPC, Web Services) and capability to guide, to troubleshoot and isolate
issues.
- Strong management skills
and demonstrated ability to marshal resources and technologies;
communication, scheduling and implementation to manage large- and
medium-scale projects.
- Manage priorities and
minimize downtime, plan maintenance and upgrades, OS patching and
automated configuration changes.
- Mentor team members in
technology and network operation, in management of procedures, SOPs and
act as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Collaborate with
internal and external engineers, with Managed Service Providers (MSPs),
and IT vendors to ensure the smooth operation of IT infrastructure.
- Strong leadership and
team management skills.
Skills and Qualifications
- Engineering degree and
certification in Project management, Information Technology, Software
engineering or related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years
of technology infrastructure management, management of people and
function. Project management experience.
- Competent in
Infrastructure Systems - VMWare technologies, vCenter, vSphere, Windows
technologies, ADFS and Group Policies.
- Strong experience in
Infrastructure Network, switching concepts, spanning tree, VLAN concepts,
interior and exterior protocols. Experience with SD-Wan, concepts and
capabilities.
- WAN, Firewall concepts
and architectures, IPS as well as remote access methods.
- Cybersecurity practices
and technologies, 3rd party security providers.
- Proven experience in
configuring and managing network infrastructure and security solutions,
including Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, Zscaler and Fortinet.
- Strong analytical,
organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills with focus on
the best need for the business and cost containment.
- Ability to work well and
communicate, especially under pressure.
- Cisco or equivalent
certifications. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Fortinet
Certified Professional (FCP) certification is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving
skills with client focus and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary for this position is $200 K to $250 K per year
