Description
The CABINET information & Technology Services Department is seeking a contract resource for the role of Infrastructure Manager. The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all infrastructure operations and infrastructure engineering to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT environment. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas such as network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, cloud services, and telecommunications systems. The successful candidate will lead infrastructure teams, establish strategic direction, manage complex projects, and ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, and service issues. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across all infrastructure domains.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering,
or related field.
- Experience:
7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, including 3+
years in a leadership or managerial role. Demonstrated experience in
infrastructure architecture, network engineering, server administration,
and enterprise systems management.
- Education
Substitute: High school diploma and 8+ years of directly related
infrastructure experience.

JOB
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead
the design and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic
infrastructure plans
- Develop,
implement, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and training
plans for infrastructure operations and project management
- Conduct
research and provide recommendations on products, services, protocols, and
standards to support infrastructure modernization and procurement
- Oversee
the planning, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure security
measures
- Manage
and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and
evaluation of infrastructure systems including LANs, WANs, Internet,
Intranet, cloud services, security, and wireless implementations
- Define
and enforce hardware and software standards in collaboration with
organizational stakeholders
- Oversee
and enforce change management processes related to infrastructure services
- Ensure
infrastructure services are tested regularly and provide performance
metrics, reports, and capacity planning insights
- Develop
and execute strategies for server, storage, and network infrastructure
maintenance and modernization
- Ensure
all change requests are managed in a controlled manner, including standard
changes, emergency maintenance, impact assessments, prioritization,
authorization, tracking, reporting, closure, and documentation
- Manage
infrastructure budgets, provide cost analysis, and support financial
planning
- Lead,
mentor, and develop infrastructure staff to ensure high performance and
operational excellence
- Perform
other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work
is typically performed in an office environment
- Occasional
travel may be required
- May
require after-hours availability for critical incidents or maintenance
windows
- TRAINING
REQUIREMENT: 24 hours of non-billable training time are required for this
position.
