Job Summary:
- Seeking a highly skilled
and detail-oriented LIMS Software Engineer with at least 5 years of
experience to lead the development, customization, and maintenance of our
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and customer-facing
portals.
- This role plays a
critical part in supporting scientific workflows and operational
efficiency across our laboratories.
- The ideal candidate will
have in-depth experience with major LIMS platforms, excellent software
development and database skills, and a strong understanding of laboratory
and regulatory environments.
- Essential
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and
configure LIMS workflows, forms, and functionalities to meet evolving
business and lab requirements.
- Customize LIMS using
platform-specific tools, scripting languages, and configuration
frameworks.
- Partner with laboratory
personnel, IT teams, and quality stakeholders to gather requirements and
implement effective technical solutions.
- Integrate LIMS with
laboratory instruments and enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, ELN, MES).
- Ensure system validation
and regulatory compliance with standards including GxP, 21 CFR Part 11,
and internal SOPs.
- Develop and maintain
technical documentation such as design specifications, validation
protocols, test cases, and user guides.
- Provide ongoing LIMS
support, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, training, and
performance tuning.
- Continuously monitor
industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements and
best practices.
Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or a related
field.
- 5+ years of hands-on
experience implementing and supporting LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare,
STARLIMS, LabVantage, Thermo Fisher SampleManager).
- Proficient in
programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, C#, SQL, or
JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of
laboratory workflows, sample management, and data integrity best
practices.
- Experience in software
development life cycle (SDLC) within regulated environments.
- Solid knowledge of
relational databases and database design principles.
Preferred:
- Experience with LIMS
integrations using REST/SOAP APIs or middleware tools.
- Familiarity with
cloud-based LIMS deployments or SaaS platforms.
- Experience working in
Agile or DevOps-driven environments.
- Language Skills:
- Professional written and
verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to understand and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary for this position is $165 K to $175 K per year with Bonus. Employee benefits will also be available, and details are available like Pension/401K/ Paid Vacation/ Life, Medical & Dental insurance etc.
