One of our many customer(s) today is urgently looking for an experienced Linux Technical Support Engineer

Position Details:

# 14446 – Linux Technical Support Engineer- 11 Months  - South San Francisco ,CA- Remote Opportunity

It is a remote role for now but might open up for hybrid style in future. 

Additional high-value skills:

Experience with software containers and container-based workflows (Singularity, Docker)

Experience with Infrastructure as Code Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins


The Position:

The Client Information Technology Support team seeks a full-time technical support engineer to address the growing needs of the GRED IT support organization. You will work with current support engineers to address support issues and tickets in various Jira queues, assist with coordinate and execution of system and application maintenance activities, improve support activities where possible, help build and maintain the existing support knowledge base and help adopt additional operational standards as the need arises.

Core skills:

RHEL certification or equivalent Linux system administration skills including

lightweight to medium level scripting (Bash, Python, Perl)

Management of storage ACLs and directory permissions management including NFS, CIFS, SMB

Ability to troubleshoot access and performance issues

Experience with storage platforms SAN and NAS

Troubleshooting Identity Access and Management issues systems and protocols (LDAP, AD, NIS)

Proficient with request/task management systems for Agile/Scrum; experience with JIRA a plus

Proficient with Git SCM (Source Code Management)

Experienced in a customer-facing role, with excellent customer service skills

Can communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to non-technical audience

Additional high-value skills:

Experience with software containers and container-based workflows (Singularity, Docker)

GPU computing support and troubleshooting

Knowledge of and experience supporting deep learning frameworks

Experience with Infrastructure as Code Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins
