Job Description  
Summary
: The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.

Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years related experience required.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:  
- This position will support the Prime Product Transportation (ocean) team focusing on data quality and rail operations. The incumbent will work with ocean carriers, rail providers and internal Client transportation team members to contribute to On-time performance to our Dealers and Customers.

Typical task breakdown:
- Rail track and trace – escalate to rail providers for cargo dwell times
- Rail operations standard process development and improvements.
- Data quality – running reports to ensure milestones within our reporting systems are accurate and up to date.

Interaction with team: 
-  You will work with the Prime Product Trade Lane Management Teams. 
Team Structure
- You will interact with ~15 – 20 different team members at different times and will report directly to the Transportation Manager.

Work environment: 
- Office work environment. If we visit a facility or rail yard, PPE will be required. Client will provide safety glasses, ear protection, and visibility vests. 

Education & Experience Required:  
- Years of experience: 2-4 years of experience
- Degree requirement: HS Diploma or GED required. Will accept Associates or BA (will accept less years of experience). Masters Degree would over qualify candidate.
