Logistics Analyst 2 (# 8212)

Job Description:  
Summary: The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules, and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.

Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years related experience required.

Additional Role Details:    
- Responsible for the execution of the DMP program. Serving as the sole team member actioning requests from manufacturing facilities to divert their ocean container to pickup at a port and avoid rail movement for expedited delivery. This covers tasks such as – creation and follow through of Blue Yonder shipments for drayage, truckload (we manage end to end for this program), constant communication with the MFG facility in relation to updates on status, working with the ocean carriers to amend bill of ladings and working with Trade Operations to ensure these are prioritized for customs clearance.
- Creating and managing all US import breakbulk parts shipments through Blue Yonder. Working with receiving facilities on delivery appts, ports for crane appts, constant communication with open equipment providers and ensuring loads are covered through contracted rates or spot quotes.
- Carrier Analyst – responsible for contacting drayage providers on ALL drayage shipments in the US import network regarding dwell.

Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience with Excel using formulas and formatting as this will be more of a technical role. In addition, if the candidate has international transportation experience, it would be a bonus as it would aide in understanding the output of their job function.
- Degree requirement: High school diploma is required.
