Job Description
The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
Skills:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 0-2 years experience required.

Typical task breakdown:
- Create 3D models of new designs utilizing PTC Creo
- Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents
- Overseeing the efforts of drafting teams to create any manufacturing drawings related to your designs.
- Perform needed analysis activities to aid in development and refinement of designs.
- Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Communicate technical information to team members, other Client engineering teams and suppliers
- Develop technical documentation for operation of new tools.
Interaction with team:
- weekly interaction with team leader to review workload priorities, deadlines, roadblocks, continues learning
- Daily collaboration with peers

Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: Minimum 1 year
- Degree requirement: Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical engineering preferred)

Top 3 Skills
- Proficiency in application of PTC Creo or other parametric 3D modeling and/or simulation tools
- Experience with design and development of product tooling for service applications
- Experience maintaining or operating heavy equipment
Additional Technical Skills
(Required)
- Experience with modeling/designing in 3d parametric modeling software (i.e. Creo, Inventor, Solidworks, etc.)
- Experience with application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Mechanical print reading and/or drafting experience
(Desired)
- Experience with various analytical/simulation tools (i.e. Finite Element Analysis, Bolted Joint Analysis, Tolerance Stack-ups, etc.)
