Job Description
The Drivetrain Component Team has design responsibility for parts used across Client machines. This role is an Axle Housing Design Engineer in the Drivetrain Castings Component Team. Tasks will be directed by a Senior Engineer on the team and include concept modeling, stress & life analysis, assessing part nonconformance risk, amongst others.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Support Senior Engineer by completing design tasks.
- Potential for additional responsibility depending on experience and demonstrated success in the role.

Why this Role?
- Client is expanding and improving its product line which requires extensive redesign. The role offers a combination of specialized detailed design but experience across many of Client's machines. These components are foundational to the success of the machine.
Typical task breakdown:
- Concept design and part modeling using Creo.
- Stress & life analysis
Interaction with team:
- Works closely with Senior Design Engineer
- Interacts with suppliers, supplier development engineers, and internal Client process partners (Quality, Operations, etc.)
Work environment:
- Will be located with the core design team in an office adjacent to a machining and assembly facility. Will sit in a cubical with other engineers from the team.
- Very experienced and welcoming team.
- Interact regularly with global team members.
Education & Experience Required:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Proficient in Creo
- Understands basic geometric tolerancing
(Desired)
- Proficient in Creo Simulate FEA
- Experience in steel or iron casting design
- APQP knowledge
- Practical / hands-on experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
Soft Skills
