Job Description:
Summary: The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
Skills:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 5-7 years experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- This job will be in Seguin TX, on PG line. Primarily focused on shop support and updating current product design. This will also include supporting NPIs and NSIs. And other MCR activities.

Why this Role?
Seguin shop support engineering team is the first point of contact for Seguin facility engineering queries, deviation request, supplier development and new project introduction issues handling. The support team consists of mechanical and electrical engineers. Their timely support helps facility to deliver on On-time shipment performance, solving quality issues and meeting NPI deadlines. Seguin shop team also supports A&I queries from dealers.
Typical task breakdown:
- Shop support for NPIs, Pilot and Validation testing.
- Production & test support (Electrical / Mechanical)
*Introduce ICAs & PCAs to protect RTS
*Resolve Seguin quality issues (CIAs) and support quality initiatives
*Deviations, technical support, quality audits
- DTO support & onsite Rental support
- Supplier collaboration, find alternative parts and validate new parts
- Compliance support (UL, ULC, CSA)
Interaction with team:
- Global team interaction, including engineering and other cross functional teams
Work environment:
- Office and shop floor, General shift
Education & Experience Required:
- BE Mechanical
- 5-7 year
- Open to 2 year degree with 7+ years experience
- Open to internships depending on type
- Open to Masters with 3+ years experience
