Job Description
Virtual simulation of thermal design for motors including verification of
test results from hardware to analysis. The candidate will have
a strong background in physics to understand the calculations going into the
analysis and relate to physical hardware.

Why this Role?
- Electrification is a growing interest in the off-highway market. Client is
working toward solutions and this motor group is at the front of the design
activity for those solutions.
Typical task breakdown:
- Physics based thermal design utilizing software and or Excel.
- Converting Internally Developed Excel tools to WEB-Format Using EASA.
- Inheriting the current data analysis process of converting machine population
data to thermal predictions for life calculations.
- Working with the internal data analysis tool team to create tools/user groups
that has motor specific user functions such as predicting SS temperature.
- Work on developing Matlab or Visual Basic tools for PM and Induction motor
thermal analysis.
Interaction with team:
- Work with Simulation Team / Experts on a regular basis to develop and
validate analysis programs.
- Work with test engineers to process lab data and compare with analytical
predictions.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
and/or Physics concentration.
- 3-10 years of experience required.
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Thermal simulation or Thermal designing experience.
- Python or Matlab Programming Experience (proficient level).
- Design of rotating components.
(Desired)
- CFD/FEA Background.
- Rotating Component analysis background.
- Data analysis experience.
- EASA (Converting Excel Sheets to WEB tools).
