Job Description:    
Summary: The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Typical task breakdown:
- Work with a team of design engineers, & team leads to plan & execute engine component validation plans
- Translate technical requirements into detailed plan test plans, instrumentation requirements, and complete execution of those plans.
- Prepare and deliver technical project summaries and final test results
- Prepares concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects working with suppliers to develop design concepts.
- Prepares development plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.
- Conducts technical evaluations of major systems on competitive products.
- Coordinates product tests with prove design and prototype build up and test areas.
- Evaluates, defines, and resolves design and manufacturing problems.
- Uses technical expertise and product knowledge in the problem resolution process when interfacing with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants.
- Keeps abreast of latest technological advancements and prepares design concepts and develops unique product design features.

-  In-Person Meetings, Informal/Ad-Hoc Office Interactions, Teams (Online Meetings (video & phone)

Team Structure
- 15 engineers US based, and 10 India based… Design engineers w/ 2 test engineers.

Work environment: 
- Office & Engine Lab Environment
- Safety glasses and shoes.
- 85% office / 15% lab

Education & Experience Required: 
- Years of experience: 8+ years 
- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural, Aerospace or related field w/ 8+ Years of Full-Time Professional Experience
- OR Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural, Aerospace or related field w/ 5+ Years of Full-Time Professional Experience

- Simulation Led Design Experience (Ansys Toolkit, FEA, CFD, etc.) w/ Ability to Quickly Iterate Design Concepts Based on Analytical Results
- Fully Proficient w/ Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Project & Task Management w/ Ability to Define & Execute to Project Priority
