Job Description:    
Position’s Contributions to Work Group: 
- As an engineer in the Purchased Finished and Product Health team, you will join a dedicated team of engineers working a variety of topics covering purchased finished electrification components, aftermarket solutions, and production robustness.  While the particular activities and responsibilities may shift and evolve to meet the needs of the business, this role is initially planned to support the following areas
- Mitigating Assurance of Supply risk with single-sourced electrical machines and components via design and sourcing activities, collaborating with our purchasing organization
- Developing dealer solutions for product in the field
- Supporting production quality and velocity targets, including rigorous APQP work, deviation management, and supply issues
- Full component level support for new projects, from requirements management through supplier selection, validation planning, and issue resolution
- This role requires the candidate to be a leader of their own projects – to understand the overall goals of the project, define their own tasks, and execute them effectively.  This will involve extensive collaboration with other groups, including purchasing, testing, dealer services, product support, integration teams, etc.

The worker will collaborate with key areas of the business inside and outside Client, including component suppliers, procurement, partner engineering teams, and aftermarket solution organizations. This role provides the opportunity to own and manage key projects and components—not simply execute tasks, but understand the larger business need and develop plans to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Typical task breakdown:
- The role requires the successful candidate to identify and respond to evolving project and business needs. They will lead assigned projects rather than simply execute direct tasks as assigned. That being said, these are areas in which the successful candidate will frequently engage:
- Understanding, organizing, and prioritizing their work
- Collaborating clearly and effectively with adjacent work groups, including status updates, requests for help, etc.
- Attending, presenting, and participating in stakeholder, project collaboration, and team meetings
- Following standard processes where applicable, including NPI, NTI, and Small Batch
- Evaluating competing options for cost, quality, and velocity

Interaction with team: 
- Regular and effective collaboration through in-person and virtual means
- Regular and effective collaboration with other parts of Client, including purchasing, other engineering groups, testing teams, and dealer-facing teams
- Regular and effective collaboration with groups outside of Client, including suppliers, test facilities, etc.

Team Structure
- Our core team consists of 10 people, split between the “Purchased Finished” motor side of the team and the “Product Health” side of the team. We regularly collaborate with other groups across a variety of specialties and locations.
- While most of the team is located in Mossville, IL, we have direct team members located in Mexico and extended collaboration partners in China and India.

Work environment: 
- Predominantly office based (~90%)
- Occasional visits to factories and suppliers (~10%)
- Generally they will need some type of PPE, usually safety glasses and shoes.  Often visitor PPE is available at the places we go

Education & Experience Required: 
- Years of experience: 8
- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s
- Open to associate degrees with 12+ years of experience
- Open to master’s degrees with 6+ years of experience
