Description
While sharing responsibilities with
other network engineer (NE) roles within the engineering team, this position
requires a more specific and dedicated function. The primary focus is research,
creation, and implementation of enterprise class architectural designs for
network services in a combined IT, stadium and broadcast environment. The NE is
expected to function as a subject matter expert and make technical decisions on
data networks supporting stadiums and IT services. The NE will design, manage,
maintain, and monitor interconnecting data networks for various client
locations. The NE configures, documents, and troubleshoots network components
for applications, media workflows, and football technology requirements on the
sidelines and throughout the stadiums. The NE provides proactive support as
well as hands on implementation involving network infrastructure and
public/private cloud integration
Essential Functions:
Provide architectural designs and
technical solutions for the network hosting IT, Broadcast, Wireless and all
technical IT services hosted in stadiums.
Lead technical efforts between multiple
departments to ensure consistent and unified services across multiple business
teams.
Hands on management and maintenance of
routers, switches, servers, APs, wireless Lan Controllers.
Ability to provide reports for capacity
analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) of network infrastructure.
Experienced technologist able to
understand complexities and interdependencies in infrastructure through to the
applications and client layers for both broadcast and corporate services.
Lead research, design and documentation
of road maps for upgrades and adoption of new network technologies.
Evaluate quality of audio, video,
transport stream and data network signals using various test and measurement
equipment.
Leads junior engineers and operations
team through deployments, technical escalations, procedures and project tasks.
Representative for key network
technology initiatives leading engagements with staff and vendors.
Required Education
and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in
networking and 6-8 years of experience in a technical role.
Expert in LAN/WAN technologies,
hardware, software, and routing.
Expert knowledge and understanding of
both IT and broadcast video network design and workflows.
Extensive experience in network
performance and security best practices, QOS policies, compression and
intrusion prevention and diagnosis.
Extensive experience with management
and connectivity to service provider data networks using standards and
protocols including OSPF and BGP.
Strong technical background in a hosted
services environment.
Experience with public, private and
hybrid cloud network architecture and management (Azure, AWS and GCP).
Experience with telecom vendor
management and service provisioning.
Preferred Education
and Experience:
Post graduate degree in Networking and
10+ years of experience in a technical role.
Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
Experience with high speed UDP file
transfer network service design.
