This role focuses on network automation, configuration validation, and pipeline-based deployments within a highly available production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, and hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems.

Description:
This role involves building and maintaining automation frameworks for network deployments, validating configurations, and ensuring efficient rollout of new network sites. The candidate will work across network layers and contribute to improving operational processes, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and automation.

Key Responsibilities: 
Develop and deploy automated systems for network site rollouts and updates

Build capabilities to verify network configuration in production environments

Design and maintain automated testing frameworks for network deployments

Implement pipeline-based automated deployments for networking tools

Work with routing protocols and core networking technologies across layers 1–4

Lead process improvements and identify automation opportunities

Ensure high availability and operational excellence of network systems

Collaborate in lab environments for testing and validation


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in network engineering
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, OSPF, BGP, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM
  • Experience with networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with routing protocols across network layers 1–4
  • 2+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environments
  • 1+ year of scripting experience (Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl)
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures

 

Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills:

  1. TCP/IP networking, IP routing, OSPF, BGP, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM
  2. Experience with networking vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, etc.)
  3. Linux/Unix environment experience

 

Nice to Have Skills:

  1. Python scripting and automation
  2. Lab/testing environment experience
  3. IPv4/IPv6 design and implementation

 

  

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position is $80 to $85/hour
