Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- This position will be part of the Product Health team for Client's e-drivetrain power inverters, within Client's Electrification + Energy Solutions Division
- The Product Health team is responsible for all maintenance and production improvement aspects of in-production inverters.
- Responsibilities include power inverter field issue and CPI issue resolutions, cost-reduction project execution, component obsolescence management, and new source introduction execution.

Typical task breakdown:
- Perform lab tests and root-cause analysis for field failures and develop solutions.
- Test planning, documentation, fixture setup, test execution, data processing and analysis, summarizing and reporting of test results, failure analysis.
- Review engineering drawings, technical requirements, and specifications, work with process partners for print updates.
- Execute cost-reduction projects by performing sample validation, technical evaluation of new suppliers, collaborate with SDEs and purchasing team to initialize production, etc.
- Utilize quality tools and processes including CPI, FMEA, APQP & PPAP.
Interaction with team:
- Collaboration with Client's SME, NPI/NTI leads, test engineers, and purchasing team.
- Collaboration with the Client India team (electrical design, release of component prints, 3D models).
- Collaboration with Client manufacturing and component suppliers.
Team Structure
- Team of 8 engineers. Will work closely under electrical team lead
Work environment:
- Office and lab environment.
- PPE gear – steel toe shoes, eyewear with side shields
- 50/50 depending on what they’re working on
Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: 8
- Degree requirement: BS in Electrical Engineering required.
- 6 years for a M.S. Power Electronics focus preferred.
- Not open to 2 year degrees

Top 3 Skills
- Deep understanding of electric drivetrain inverters: topology, control, design, and manufacturing
- Proven hands-on testing and trouble-shooting skills in traction inverter testing and validation, especially for high-voltage, high-power applications.
- Strong collaboration skills to coordinate and execute testing activities with validation teams: test fixtures, instrumentation, resources, tools, schedule, processes, measurement equipment, analysis of test results, preparation of technical reports, design reviews, failure analysis.
Additional Technical Skills
(Required)
- Familiar with IPC 600/650 and IEC 60204/60664/61557 standards.
- Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, technical requirements, and specifications, work with process partners for print updates.
- Experience with CPI processes, root-cause analysis, and deep hands-on troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, experience with test data analysis tools such as Pythons, MATLAB, Excel, and JBER.
- Experience with using dataloggers, oscilloscopes, HV differential probe, current transducer, thermal chambers, high voltage power supplies, high current power supplies.
- Experience with Pythons, MATLAB, Excel, and JBER for test data analysis.

- Experience with power inverter production and maintenance tasks, obsolescence management experience, and life cycle management.
- Clear communicator and the ability to work efficiently across multiple process partner teams: electrical and mechanical engineers, thermal simulation, quality, manufacturing, purchasing.
Soft Skills

- Experience in Microsoft tools (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Quick learner to understand existing in-production inverters designs
- Self-starter who can understand a task or program’s status, generate action items, identify problems, and initiate actions
