Job Description

We are seeking a Product Manager for a contract to hire opportunity in Washington, DC.

The Opportunity:
The ideal candidate for the TCS/CDS transition is equal parts product manager and business analyst, is dependable, hard-working and can thrive independently in a matrixed organization. While they must understand and be able to communicate the longer term strategy of transitioning the magazines and their customers into the app to internal stakeholders, they must also be able to plan, define, and run the tactical execution on a day-to-day basis. Transitioning the business needs, user flows, content and production workflows (while keeping the people impacted by the changes informed and involved) is key, as is the understanding that they will be part of a team, not leading the team. This team will consist of the product manager, a technical product owner and a business analyst

·         Identifies business objectives and coordinates with variety of business stakeholders across the organization

·         Prioritizes new scopes, features, and issues against existing roadmaps

·         Tracks and reports on key performance metrics

·         Collaborates on go-to-market/launch, engagement & retention strategy and customer relationship management

·         Owns the detailed roadmap in collaboration with team

·         Prioritizes the backlog

·         Documents functional requirements and stories

·         Owns and writes JIRA tickets at the Feature level

·         Owns and writes user acceptance criteria in collaboration with technical leadership

·         Assesses and raises issues that are added to the backlog

·         Provides direction, clarifies and prioritizes for the day-to-day working teams

·         Runs demos and socializes new features/functionality to senior management

Role Requirements:

·         2-5+ years of Product Mgmt experience,

·         Mobile application product experience is key (iOS, Android, extended platforms, streaming video, web)

·         Experience with subscription or membership-based business models a plus

·         Experience with Agile software development methodology (JIRA, Confluence),

·         Excellent collaboration skills, with a history of transparency

·         Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, visual)

·         Experience working with/influencing cross-functional teams

·         Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on individual
