Project engineer who’s primary responsibility is a liaison to manufacturing in support of Quality issues and resolving Build issues.  

Position’s Contributions to Work Group: 
- Project Engineer in the LPSD [Large Power Systems Division] Electrical Systems and Controls team.  This position is responsible for supporting the large engine build issues, quality issues and improve as built part traceability.  The successful candidate will collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve build efficiency and product quality.

Typical task breakdown:
- Engineering/Technologist position in the Large Engine Electrical System team. Primary responsibility is liaison to manufacturing in support of BIQ initiatives.

Interaction with team: 
- First point of contact for Operation Assembly issues - Assists offsite engineering teams, (Mossville and India), by obtaining information from the shop - Documents product and assembly practices by talking to assemblers and taking photographs - Participates in nearly all LEC Pre-Delivery Audits - Manages ~150 active BIQ initiatives (CI Cards and ECRs) - Averages 30 BIQ closures per month, mostly by print changes - Manages an Offshore staff of ~4 designers/detailers Requirements. 

Work environment: 
- An average day consists of 1-2 trips to the operations floor. Attendance in 1-2 meetings. Tracking and evaluating engineering requests. Time spent collaborating with other engineers on those requests.

Education & Experience Required: 
- Years of experience: Bachelor’s 3 years of engine design experience + internship experience (2 years), Master’s with 3 years 
- Degree requirement: BS required in mechanical, agricultural, electrical, or similar engineering or engineering technology.

Additional Technical Skills 
(Required) - Excellent Organization and Priority setting skills. - Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and schematics. - Must be self-motivated with a good sense of urgency when handling assigned tasks. 
(Desired) - Good understanding of engines or electrical systems is a plus - At least 2-3 years of industry or related military experience - CREO and TeamCenter experience

Soft Skills
(Required) - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Must work and communicate extremely well with hourly assembly teams. - Ability to work with diverse personalities is required as this position will interface with many other departments (such as other engineering groups, operations, suppliers, marketing, supply chain, and customer service). - Ability to multi-task and work with a team of individuals of diverse backgrounds.
