Summary:
The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
Direct, review and approve product designs and changes.
Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
CPI Project Leadership
Lead CPI projects from intake through closure, ensuring clear problem definition, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustained controls.
Apply Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) tools to reduce defects, cycle time, and process waste.
Drive timely execution of CPI actions with sponsors, system engineers, and cross functional stakeholders.
Governance & CPI List Management:
Own assigned CPI issues and support CPI list management activities, including activating, updating, and closing CPI records.
Ensure CPI data quality (status, target dates, sponsor alignment, dealer status) and adherence to governance standards.
Participate in CPI governance, quality council, and CPI process quality meetings as required.
Typical task breakdown:
Coordinating projects to resolve quality issues
Review new CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) requests and clarify problem statements with stakeholders.
Conduct root cause analyses using Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC tools (e.g., process mapping, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams).
Develop and document corrective actions and preventive controls.
Coordinate with sponsors, system engineers, and cross functional partners to drive timely completion of CPI actions.
Monitor progress, remove roadblocks, and follow up with owners to ensure deadlines are met.
Prepare and deliver updates on CPI project status, risks, and required decisions.
Update CPI records daily (status, target dates, dependencies, sponsors, dealer inputs).
Validate data accuracy to ensure alignment with governance requirements.
Activate new CPI issues and move items through their lifecycle (initiation ? execution ? closure).
Support preparation of materials for governance and quality council meetings.
Participate in CPI governance, quality council, and process quality meetings as needed, capturing actions and follow ups.
Promote and reinforce BIQ practices across teams (e.g., defect prevention, verification steps, standard work).
Support teams in applying quality risk definitions and following quality gates.
Review NPI (New Product Introduction) quality deliverables to ensure standards and requirements are met.
Identify recurring quality gaps and escalate themes requiring systemic solutions.
Provide guidance and coaching on quality best practices and BIQ methodology.
