Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance (or equivalent experience) and expertise
in purchasing, supply chain, or wiring harness engineering. Strong analytical,
negotiation, and problem-solving skills, proficiency in ERP systems, and
adaptability to support procurement and cost analysis for the "Midsize
Program."

Title: Purchasing Associate 2 - (377-1)
Location: Newark, CA
Duration: 04 Months (Contract)
Status: Onsite
Expected working hours – Monday to Friday;
8AM-5PM (possible OT)
Job Description:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supplier
Quality, NPI, PM to identify and source suppliers with right qualifications to
meet Client's expectations and timelines
- Create RFQs, review, analyze, and clarify
quotations from suppliers and develop sound sourcing and business
recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead-time and technical considerations
- Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts
including parts pricing, tooling costs and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT),
NDAs, MSAs.
- Work with suppliers and Engineering to
release parts into production and issue POs for Prototype Parts and
Prototype/Production Tooling
- Be responsible for Driving and Tracking all
supplier responsible ECRs, and Clear to Builds
- Manage supplier development and tooling
timelines, part availability for prototype builds/start of production and
develop solutions to delays or problems that arise
- Maintain overall supplier relationships and
act as point of contact for all commercial issues, including internal
report-outs summarizing sourcing status, parts availability and cost status
- Perform supplier assessments, audits and site
inspections; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation;
monitor and maintain performance metrics
- Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform
business and program reviews
You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply
Chain or Finance discipline required; Masters preferred, Equivalent work
experience may be considered in Lieu of degree.
- Experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or
Engineering of wiring harnesses, and related electrical and mechanical
components.
- Understanding in manufacturing processes
supporting electrical distribution systems and assembly.
- Product launch experience preferred.
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to
adapt, improvise and problem solve, as well as work independently on multiple
tasks or projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high
degree of resilience to deal with urgent requests, and minimal information.
Works well with various teams.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and
problem-solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and hands on execution.
Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage complex suppliers
and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal
staff.
- Strong written and verbal skills as well as
organizational and program management capabilities.
