Job Description
Quality engineer role in Large Power Systems Division – Drivetrain – Product
Support – Operations Quality group in Decatur, IL, and launch your career at
the intersection of hands-on manufacturing and engineering systems. This is not
a desk job—you’ll be on the assembly floor inspecting drivetrain components,
verifying parts quality, and ensuring our production systems meet the highest
standards of safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
The ideal candidate combines a “gearhead” mentality with an Industrial
Manufacturing Engineering degree/ experience. You’ll serve as the critical link
between physical assembly and system-level optimization—auditing product,
identifying root causes of issues, and collaborating with multiple functional
areas to implement effective solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity
to build a strong internal network across manufacturing engineering, quality,
operations, product support engineering, and supply chain.
Typical task breakdown:
- Audit active assembly process
- Take pictures of critical parts and processes
- Document critical observations/ details in concise manner

- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s or Associates + experience
