Position Overview:
- This
role is based on the manufacturing floor in a repair facility environment.
The main focus is on in-line repair processes and functional
quality inspections covering inbound, in-line, and outbound
stages.
- The
candidate will work as a Quality Supervisor managing
day-to-day quality inspections, analyzing data, and making adjustments as
needed to meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Managers will provide
the necessary requirements, and the candidate will be expected to deliver
weekly and monthly updates on progress.
- The
position also involves target management with biweekly
quality meetings focused on refurbishing mobile devices and
identifying defects within the repair line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection
and Repair Line Management:
- Supervise
a team responsible for four different types of inspections.
- Support
the repair line with root cause analysis to resolve
defects.
- Collaborate
with the team to identify issues, lead biweekly defect review meetings,
and implement corrective actions.
- Work
closely with repair vendors to ensure continuous improvement and quality
standards are maintained.
- Collaboration
and Relationship Management:
- Coordinate
with internal teams such as the Quality Parts team, the Client management
team, and the repair floor staff.
- Maintain
strong communication with external stakeholders, including customers and
repair vendors, for inbound and outbound inspections.
- Occasionally
travel to sites to identify and resolve failures in person (20% travel
required, fully reimbursed).
- Engage
in cross-functional problem-solving across various teams.
- Problem
Solving & Technical Expertise:
- Identify
process failures during audits and implement solutions.
- Provide
feedback and collaborate with repair vendors to correct issues.
- Experience
with ISO standards and auditing is highly preferred.
- Perform Failure
Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), especially when a new software
model is released. Identify potential bugs and communicate findings to
the engineering team - just need to supervise no need actual experience
with FMEA
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
- If
no degree, candidates must have 5-7 years of directly related experience/
IF degree then 5 years of experience
- A
mobile engineering background is a strong plus.
- Masters
Degree candidates are not required
- Experience:
- Experience
with mobile device repair lines is highly desirable.
- Familiarity
with ISO standards or audit experience is required.
- Proficiency
in Excel for data analysis and some PowerPoint experience.
- Certifications
such as ASI or ASQC are preferred.
Other Details:
- The
work schedule is either 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, depending
on the team's needs.
- Overtime
may be required based on project demands.
- The
interview process typically includes an initial phone screening followed
by an in-person interview.
Position Summary:
- The
QA Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the quality roles of the
overall Mobile Refurbishment process. This role will provide leadership
and direction to the team and work with internal and external parties in
resolving quality issues as they relate to refurbished phones. This will
include setting up quality processes and systems that insure product
quality is met and maintained at the third-party repair vendor to include
areas such as ongoing quality review meetings, issuance and follow-up on corrective
action requests, onsite process audits and setting up quality checklists
for inbound/inline/outbound inspections. The QA supervisor will work
closely with internal support teams as well as HQ/Factory in this regard
as well. Expected to maintain direct customer communications for quality
related concerns and/or alignment activity.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be
assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent
will:
- Provides
formal weekly/monthly reports on the repair quality performance of the
third-party vendor
- Works
with a third-party repair vendor to meet SEA quality KPIs and to improve
device repair quality by identifying root causes and implementing
corrective actions
- Manages
an internal inspection team and the completion of daily tasks and
objectives
- Works
with the staffing agency to hire and monitor the overall performance of
the internal inspection team
- Coordinates
customer reject returns for screening and/or expedites shipments of
products
- Defines
quality inspection processes and assesses the need for changes based on
effectiveness
- Provides
product audit checklists for the introduction of new repair models
- Coordinates
internal teams to provide formal root cause and corrective action
responses.
- Performs
onsite validation of carrier-reported issues to ensure alignment and
ability to escalate concerns to customers
Background/Experience
to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels
are required:
- Prefers
a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 5-7
years of job related experience
- Thorough
understanding of the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 stds
- Experience
with ISO 9000 to support certification audits is beneficial (not required)
- Proficient
in MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience
with using statistical process control and failure mode effect analysis
FMEA applications
- Experience
auditing internally and third parties with minimal documentation to insure
process controls are in place and adequate.
- Background
in the wireless industry a significant advantage.

Physical/Mental
Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform
the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
- Requires
domestic business travel up to 20% of the work time.
- Operate
PC and product test equipment more than 50% of work time in an alternating
sedentary and highly mobile position.
- Lift,
move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or
products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling
equipment and procedures.
- High
level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color
distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information
analysis and error recognition.
- High
hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform
electronic component repair work.
- Machines,
tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated
with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test
equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid
kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain
test areas.
- Under
general supervision where general policies govern, daily activities are
only sometimes monitored and performance is measured by effective results.
Errors are difficult to detect and may adversely affect outside
relationships. Access to sensitive confidential data such as product
performance data, disclosure may have serious internal or external effect.
Summary:
- The
main function of a quality technician is to inspect and test processed,
machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defect, wear, and
deviations from specifications.
Job

the discarding or rejection of products, materials, and equipment not
meeting specifications.
- Review
inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or
moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
- Notify
client of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting
these problems.

and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to
specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly
adjustments.

inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend
necessary corrective actions.
