About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Specialist to join our team in Matawan, NJ. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, analyzing, and validating business data across SAP and other internal systems.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, has strong Excel skills, understands data quality and accuracy, and can identify and resolve data inconsistencies. You will work closely with business teams, IT, vendors, stores, and other stakeholders to ensure information is accurate, complete, and maintained according to established data governance standards.
SAP experience is highly preferred, and bilingual Spanish skills are required.
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and update product and business data in SAP and other internal systems.
Create and maintain business partner records, including stores, employees, and vendors.
Analyze, organize, and validate large volumes of product and business data.
Review data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
Perform regular data audits and identify data quality issues.
Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies.
Create and maintain Excel reports and data validation reports.
Monitor daily data-related reports and correct errors in a timely manner.
Analyze data trends and identify potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
Support the creation and maintenance of new product/item records.
Review product information, advertisements, and offers to ensure data accuracy.
Assist with data implementation, testing, validation, and system enhancements.
Troubleshoot product and data issues and work with IT to identify root causes and implement corrections.
Work with internal teams, stores, vendors, and other data stakeholders to maintain data integrity.
Monitor data submitted by internal and external data stewards and escalate data quality or compliance issues when necessary.
Follow established data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Provide guidance and support to business users regarding data processes and best practices.
Assist with training and educational materials related to data processes.
Perform additional data-related responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
Experience working with data entry, data maintenance, data analysis, or data quality.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Ability to learn new systems and business processes quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP experience, particularly with master data, item maintenance, business partners, or data entry.
Basic SQL/database knowledge.
Experience with data validation, data auditing, or data governance.
Experience working with ERP systems or enterprise databases.
Experience in a retail, merchandising, supply chain, or similar business environment.
Excel Skills
Candidates should have a solid working knowledge of Excel, including:
Data sorting and filtering
Data validation
Pivot tables
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP or similar lookup functions
Basic formulas and calculations
Identifying and correcting data errors
Creating and maintaining reports

compensation range for this position is $52000 to $55000 per year as base salary
