Job Description:
Role Summary
- The SAP ECC PP/MM Master
Data Specialist is responsible for the design, governance, and
implementation of core supply chain master data required to support
integration with third-party production planning solutions.
- This contract engagement
will ensure that SAP ECC master data structures (e.g., Material Master,
BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions, and inventory
parameters) are accurate, standardized, and aligned to enable effective
demand planning, scheduling, and production execution performed outside
SAP.
- Acting as the functional
lead for master data within SAP ECC Production Planning (PP) and Materials
Management (MM), the role partners closely with business stakeholders,
integration teams, and external solution providers to ensure seamless data
exchange and optimal planning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Master Data Design & Governance
- Lead the design,
standardization, and governance of SAP ECC master data objects critical to
production planning integration, including:
- Material
Master (MRP views, planning parameters, procurement types)
- Bill of
Materials (BOM)
- Routings
and Work Centers
- Production
Versions and Scheduling Parameters
- Define and enforce global
data standards, naming conventions, and governance processes.
Third-Party Planning Integration
- Own the
SAP ECC master data model required to support third-party planning tools
(e.g., demand planning, capacity planning, scheduling).
- Ensure
accurate and consistent master data feeds (e.g., stock, sales orders,
BOMs, routings) into external planning systems.
- Collaborate
with integration teams to validate interfaces, data mappings, and data
quality requirements.
Business Alignment & Requirements Translation
- Partner with production,
planning, procurement, and supply chain teams to capture requirements and
translate them into SAP master data structures.
- Drive alignment between
SAP data design and business planning processes to ensure optimal planning
outcomes.
Implementation & Change Delivery
- Support SAP ECC projects
and enhancements involving master data design, including system changes
required for planning solution integration.
- Develop functional
specifications for master data-related enhancements and collaborate with
technical teams on implementation.
Data Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Establish data quality
controls, monitoring processes, and KPIs for critical master data
elements.
- Lead root cause analysis
for planning or execution issues linked to master data gaps or
inconsistencies.
- Drive continuous
improvement initiatives to enhance master data integrity and planning
accuracy.
Testing & Deployment
- Lead master data
validation during system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance
testing (UAT).
- Ensure end-to-end test
scenarios cover planning integration flows (SAP ↔ third-party).
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
- Work closely with
third-party planning solution providers, SAP functional teams, and
business stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Act as the key SAP ECC
master data advisor for planning-related initiatives.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on
experience in SAP ECC PP and MM, with a focus on master data design and
configuration.
- Deep expertise in:
- Material
Master (MRP, procurement, planning parameters)
- BOM
management and variant structures
- Routings,
work centers, and production versions
- Proven experience
supporting or integrating with third-party production planning or
scheduling solutions.
- Strong understanding of
how SAP master data supports:
- Demand
planning
- Rough-cut
capacity planning
- Detailed
scheduling and production execution
- Experience with data
governance, data quality frameworks, and master data lifecycle management.
- Experience defining
functional specifications and working with ABAP and integration teams.
- Strong testing experience
across SIT, UAT, and data validation cycles.
- Practical understanding
of SAP PP/MM integration points (procurement, inventory, production
orders).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in
Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related
discipline.
- SAP certification in PP
or MM is advantageous.
- Experience in
manufacturing environments with external planning tools is strongly
preferred.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum hourly wage for this position is $65/Hr. to $75/hr.
