Title: Senior Buyer
Location: North
Reading, MA (Onsite)
Duration: 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
About the Role
We are
seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage procurement
activities, supplier relationships, and material planning in a fast-paced
manufacturing and supply chain environment. The ideal candidate will have
hands-on experience with direct procurement, supplier management, ERP systems,
and inventory planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials, components,
assemblies, hardware, and other business-critical items.
- Manage supplier relationships and
monitor supplier performance against established KPIs.
- Support supplier scorecards and
participate in business reviews.
- Plan material requirements,
maintain inventory levels, and manage schedules through ERP systems.
- Monitor supply chain risks and
communicate mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
- Track and manage purchase orders,
deliveries, and expedite requests.
- Support supplier performance
improvement initiatives and issue resolution.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies
and assist with invoice reconciliation.
- Manage supplier returns,
non-conformance activities, and material disposition processes.
- Identify process improvement
opportunities and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in
purchasing, buying, or direct procurement.
- Experience managing supplier
relationships and component/material portfolios.
- Proficiency in ERP systems for
purchase order execution, rescheduling, and demand planning.
- Strong Excel skills, including
Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
- Excellent analytical,
organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, Tableau, or
business intelligence tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply
Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- APICS, Six Sigma, or similar
certifications.
- Experience leading supplier
performance reviews and business discussions.

Background
Candidates with experience in direct material procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, and ERP-based purchasing within manufacturing, hardware, or supply chain environments are highly preferred.
