Overview
Responsible for the investment accounting for our client and its related
entities. Prepares monthly account reconciliations utilizing the control
reports associated with the Investment Accounting operations and tying
financial information back to SAP. Performs medium-to-complex level analysis of
investment related items, including analysis of fair and book values,
unrealized and realized gains/losses, investment income, and other items as
needed. Responsible for the preparation of quarterly and year-end schedules for
external audit and year-end surveys from rating agencies and associations.
Prepares/reviews preparation of investment related footnotes for audited
financial statements for all entities and funds.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform
the daily and monthly processing, reconciliation, and reporting functions
for traditional and complex asset types.
- Prepare
and perform controls on monthly reporting and GL feeds for US GAAP, US
STAT, and IFRS
- Prepare
investment related quarterly and annual IFRS and Statutory regulatory
reporting and disclosures.
- Understand
GAAP/IFRS/STAT guidance to support strategic investment operations and
initiatives.
- Perform
investment research, analysis and proper accounting treatment.
- Review
and resolve differences on reconciliations against book and record source,
custodians and other data sources as they apply.
- Identify
opportunities to enhance current production processes.
- Address
ad hoc inquiries from internal and external sources.
- Document
and cross train others.
- Liaise
with internal and external teams daily.
- Monitor
and analyze and document investment income, realized capital gains/losses,
invested assets and liabilities, as well as other investment data
elements.

Skill Qualifications
- Solid
understanding of practical application of accounting rules for investments
under US GAAP, US STAT and IFRS.
- Strong
background with simple and complex investment products.
- Proven
ability to meet daily/monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables.
- Strong
oral and written communication skills.
- Ability
to multitask effectively and work independently with sense of urgency.
- Strong
analytical skills and ability to remain highly organized in a deadline
driven environment.
- Proficiency
with Microsoft Office; advanced skill in Excel required.
- Accuracy
and detail orientation
- Knowledge
of investment products and ability to analyze investment holdings and
earnings.
- Knowledge
of IFRS and US GAAP accounting and reporting
- Knowledge
of NAIC requirements and statutory accounting
- Organizational
and coordination skills to support multi-tasking.

Systems/Technical Knowledge:
- Exposure
to large-scale enterprise, financial systems (e.g., SAP)
- SOVOS
(Wings), Bloomberg, Precision for Mortgages, Clearwater Analytics

Education and Experience Qualifications
Required:
- B.S in
Accounting
- CPA or
masters degree a plus
- 4-6 years experience of investment accounting or equivalent work.
A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and
maximum base salary for this position is $110K/Annum to $115K/Annum. This
position will also include a discretionary bonus depending on a variety of
factors.
