Software Design Engineer in Test 1 – Remote (Redmond, WA Candidates Only)
Overview

As a Software Design Engineer in Test 1, you’ll play an integral role in modernizing consumer identity experiences and supporting the rollout of a new product, External ID (also known as Siam). In this hands-on testing position, you’ll execute manual and automated tests, validate builds, analyze results, and report product anomalies—all contributing directly to the delivery of reliable, high-quality software experiences. You’ll collaborate in bug bashes, engage in exploratory testing, and help ensure products meet specification before release.
Required Skills
- 1–2 years of experience using testing tools such as Fiddler.
- 1–2 years of experience testing web applications and browser-based platforms.
- 1–2 years of experience conducting tests on Android and iOS devices.
- General knowledge of personal computers, applications software, and operating systems.
- Ability to manage manual test execution, analyze test results, and communicate findings clearly.
- Solid problem-solving and investigative skills with the ability to learn new information quickly.
- Proficiency using basic word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity with the product development lifecycle.
- Previous experience working with large-scale tech clients.
- Exposure to automated testing tools and techniques.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent technical training/certification.
- Prior hands-on experience in software testing or quality assurance environments.
Other Requirements
- Candidates must be based in Redmond, WA, even though the role is fully remote.
- Must be able to pick up testing devices from Studio A.
