Title: Sr. Devops Engineer

Type: Perm opportunity

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina or remote (east coast hours).

Must Have: Client is Microsoft shop, looking for experience in DevOps codedeploy practices, building CI/CD pipelines and automation, Will work with the Head of Cloud Operations to establish the Cloud Centre.

 The Opportunity

The primary responsibility of the DevOps Engineer is to help form our Hybrid cloud operations while helping with the transformation of the Hosting teams to SRE/DevOps practices.

You will work with the Head of Cloud Operations to establish the Cloud Centre of Excellence and develop the operational and support strategy and its successful execution. In addition,

 Responsibilities include:

Work with Enterprise Architecture team to implement a highly scalable, automated and available cloud platforms.

Work with Head Cloud Operations to build the Cloud Platform team and required capacity to support the client business.

Assist in creating and implementing DevOps, support, maintenance and governance practices and processes for the cloud platform.

Evaluate tools and methodologies to support platform operations.

Partner with Development teams, CyberSecurity, Support and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver and maintain a cloud platform and associated DevOps practices.

Break large complex systems into manageable subsystems and components, each of which can be managed by individuals or teams in a scalable manner.

Form part of the technical transformation team that will deliver the migration from On Prem to Cloud services over the next 24 months.

Help create the capabilities to utilize automation practices for initializing and provisioning systems and facilitate infrastructure orchestration.

Convert the InfraOps practices into DevOps codedeploy practices, building CI/CD pipelines and automation to deliver and deploy applications to production.

Ensure systems and application have efficient and actionable monitoring with SLO aligned with business goals.

Work with the head of Cloud Platforms to implement SRE practices and team as part of the Digital transformation process.

Preferred Background and profile

You have previously worked as SRE or DevOps leader in a tech intense environment and/or in financial services.

You have strong knowledge of Windows & Azure infrastructures

You have solid experience in building fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure systems.

You have worked efficiently with continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Jenkins and GitHub.

You are passionate about innovation and love leading technological change.

Experience with Containerization infrastructure, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes (AKS, etc.)

Experience with observability capability and logging/monitoring

On infrastructure as code/automation side, maybe add ARM template, in addition to Terraform etc.
