Staff Accountant
ON SITE JOB
Location: Seattle, WA (Downtown)
Responsibilities and Duties
Our client is currently looking for a knowledgeable Staff Accountant who is looking to gain valuable experience with a high volume fast paced global company. This position has growth potential and will be full time in office 5 days per week. In this position you will managing unclaimed property & lead our annual GAAP audit. Unclaimed property involves becoming familiar with the UCP process in various states, working with custom accounting reports, notifying property owners, communicating with state agencies, and preparing NAUPA reports. The annual GAAP audit lead will manage all audit requests, communication & production of information. On a given day you may handle routine general ledger bookkeeping, accounts payable or accounts receivable. AP responsibilities include timely & accurately processing weekly vendor invoices coding, data entry and payment processing across multiple companies & payment methods. AR functions include managing credit card merchant activity promptly and accurately along with processing of various methods of incoming payments. GL tasks include journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, researching questions regarding financial reports and assisting with the month end close process.

Qualifications and Skills
- Must be familiar with GAAP and general accounting procedures
- Team player with positive attitude, accountability, and responsibility
- Well-organized and detail-oriented a must
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - both written and oral are required
- 1-3 years general accounting experience
- Strong intermediate Excel skills
- Proficiency with 10-key typing and data entry
- Good reconciliation skills
- Able to multitask and work well in a deadline-driven environment
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
- BA a plus, must be high school graduate or equivalent
- Working knowledge of basic office and administrative software such as MS Office
- Experience with intercompany transactions a plus
- Experience with internet billing and licensing systems - MAS/Sage 100 Software a plus
