Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager for our client in Washington, DC.  This is a contract to hire opportunity.


Position Summary: 
Currently we are changing our subscription fulfillment and entitlement systems. We are retiring both systems and will be replacing their functionality with tools to be designed and built in-house. The future-state tools should handle not only the existing entitlement use cases, but also be adaptable to new products and changes to digital business models. 

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager with technical knowledge and agile project management experience will be responsible for managing the execution of project planning including, communicating with stakeholders, setting project deadlines, coordinating with lateral teams to ensure that project deadlines are efficiently met by assigning tasks and identifying the need for resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
    • Understanding of multiple Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, and the ability to find the right process and tools for the situation/project
    • Responsible for identifying, clarifying, and communicating the vision and/or objective(s) of projects and show how they fall in place with, enhance, or inhibits such vision and/or objective(s)
    • Strong systems analysis and/or systems design skills in project management
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including driving consensus and alignment
    • Create/maintain communications material for work stream related to project status, accomplishments, planned activities, and timelines
    • Pull key critical milestones from project plans and measure progress and status of these milestones
    • Run team and project meetings, including setting agendas, tracking action items, and documenting key decisions and tracking dependencies and risks
    • Work with Product Owner and Technical Lead and other key stakeholders to create and maintain a team roadmap that takes company and team priorities and constraints into account
    • Create material for PMO run workshops (Lessons Learned, Project Planning, etc.)
  • Business Analysis
    • Collaborate with other work streams and develop process mapping documentation and training material
    • Content management best practices including metadata, version management, digital production
    • Create/maintain communications material for work stream related to business processes
    • Work with other work streams to resolve system use issues
    • Understand business processes/problems and bring that understanding to discussions with developers, product team, and designers
    • Collaborate with product team members to ensure that business requirements adhere to technical and creative constraints
    • Help resolve issues, risks and dependencies within the project and across the program

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be very organized and detail-oriented and know how to keep things on track and moving when working with multiple stakeholders and personalities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as listening and interpretation skills
  • Ability to drive requirements & solutions – ability to lead solutions and influence the stakeholders
  • Problem solver, proactive in figuring solutions, be able to think on feet
  • 4+ years’ relevant work experience in digital marketing and project management
  • 4+ years’ experience working with System Owners, Developers and Users to understand their technology
  • Bachelor Degree (BA/BS) in Technology, Business, Marketing, or other related discipline
  • Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, and SmartSheet, MS office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in highly parallel work environments with projects utilizing iterative and agile approaches to achieve their objectives
  • Extensive knowledge of Iterative and Incremental software development processes
  • Strong diverse technical background
  • Experience coordinating multi-team project development cycles and software development schedules
