Requirements
• Years of
Experience Required: 5–7 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: No specific degree is required to be
eligible for this role.
• Disqualifiers: Candidates who are not native English speakers will not be
eligible for the role.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience with Figma,
Markdown, Client Office products, and preferably Git; a strong portfolio or
writing samples are highly desirable.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of
work, meeting deadlines, and feedback from the team.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
Minimum 3-4 year experience with Figma.
Minimum 3-4 year experience with Markdown.
Minimum 3-4 year experience with Client Office products.
Summary:
The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials,
such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance
instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing
and maintaining technical records and files.
Job Responsibilities:
• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set
standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine
subject material to be developed for publication
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or
english, journalism, communications
• 5-7 years’ experience required
• Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Ability to read some programming code
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
