Description:
The Training Specialist at the client Health Information
Exchange (KHIE) is a relationship driven professional responsible for
developing, coordinating and delivering training programs that support
participants in the knowledge and utilization of KHIE services.
The Training Specialist collaborates with internal teams and external
participants to assess training needs, create training materials, facilitate
virtual and in-person training sessions and provide ongoing support to promote
the successful adoption of KHIE services. Responsibilities may also
include maintaining training documentation, tracking participation and
performance metrics, supporting onboarding initiatives and assisting with
process improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate
healthcare organizations on the benefits of participation in KHIE while
proactively managing those relationships to ensure long-term value and
satisfaction.
- Develop,
coordinate and deliver training programs for healthcare providers and
internal team members.
- Conduct
virtual and in-person training sessions, webinars and workshops for new
and existing participants.
- Create
and maintain training materials, user guides, presentations and standard
operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assess
training needs and identify opportunities to improve user understanding
and the adoption of KHIE services.
- Serve
as the subject matter expert regarding all KHIE services.
- Monitor
training participation, collect feedback and track performance metrics to
evaluate training effectiveness.
- Assess
training needs and identify knowledge gaps to support successful
onboarding and service adoption.
- Ensure
training content aligns with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements
and data privacy standards.
- Support
continuous process improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancements
in training delivery methods and user experience.
- Maintain
accurate training records and documentation.
- Host
educational briefings, product demonstrations, and user engagement
sessions tailored to varying stakeholder roles (C-suite, clinical, IT).
- Produce
reports and presentations highlighting training efforts and participant
feedback.
- Promote
positive customer service and professional communication with healthcare
organizations and stakeholders.
- Support
troubleshooting efforts by escalating user issues and coordinating with
appropriate internal teams when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree in healthcare administration, public health, business or a related
field.
- Minimum
3 years of experience in training, healthcare operations, customer support
or health information technology (IT).
- Proven
ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable way.
- Strong
verbal and written communication skills.
- Patience,
adaptability and the ability to work with varying learning styles and
skill levels.
- Excellent
communication and presentation skills with a strong customer service
orientation.
- Strong
understanding of the healthcare delivery systems in Kentucky.
- Knowledge
of health IT systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and data exchange
standards preferred.
- Ability
to work independently in a remote setting with regular in-state travel
(valid driver’s license required).
Preferred Attributes:
- A
strategic thinker with a mission-driven approach and an ability to adapt
messaging to different audiences.
- Certifications
in training, instructional design or health IT.
- Familiarity
with healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIPAA and
interoperability mandates.
Working Conditions: This role involves frequent
travel across Kentucky to meet with stakeholders and attend regional events.
Remote work is supported, but face-to-face engagement is essential. Candidates
must reside in or be willing to relocate to Kentucky.
