Job Title: TOS Integration Analyst

Location: LA, CA – Onsite

Duration: Full-Time

 

Job Description:

Responsible for the systems integrations in an industrial environment, Terminal Operations system (TOS) integrations, Container Terminal Operational Systems, and its integrations with Operational Technology (OT), Terminal Auto Gate applications, and Terminal ERP systems. Including supporting and maintaining IT integrations and application design. Works closely with the terminal IT Applications Head to build the IT systems, manage vendors, and control the IT costs. Actively collaborate with his business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve process efficiency by adopting new IT capabilities. 

  • Design, implementation, and management of the Terminal Operations System and its integrations with Auto Gate, ERP, and automation integrations.
  • Researches and analyzes integration technologies, architecture, and design, conducts analysis, prepares recommendations, and facilitates efficiency enhancements.
  • Develop business requirement documents and specifications.
  • Supports the review and understanding of integration design and process requirements to develop software functional specifications for optimization/continuous improvement projects.
  • System integration, software integration test planning, testing, and commissioning for the application integration landscape.
  • Ensure proper application lifecycle and version management by following up on every software integration release into the production environment while acting as hypercare support.
  • Works as directed by the management team to research and document business issues involving workflow procedures and processes.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting calls for Incidents Priority 1 to 4 acting as the incident manager when an issue is presented at the Waterside application level.
  • Analyze data and work with management to develop IT applications and solutions.
  • Works closely with the terminal operational and functional team to identify and implement improvements to business operations, services, and models.
  • Ensure proper integration of vendor engineering solutions into the overall terminal engineering documentation.
  • Ensure SLAs are met on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with the regional platform business analyst to identify opportunities to modernize, streamline, and standardize the terminal tech portfolio.
  • Participates in the development of root cause analysis for major incidents impacting terminal operations and ensures identified countermeasures are deployed as planned.
  •  With the Terminal IT manager, define the terminal Tech portfolio modernization, infrastructure simplification, and applications rationalization.

Skills and Qualifications 

·        University or higher vocational degree and certification in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.

·        Minimum five (5) years of Terminal experience, automation component experience is preferred.

  • Minimum three (3) years of related project handling/coordination experience and process documentation.
  • Operational Technology hardware and integration experience is preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of terminal TOS (SPARCS N4) architecture, terminal Auto Gate technology, and Terminal ERP applications.
  • Understand concepts of automation, and automation interfaces to exchange data and messaging between systems.
  • Understanding of messaging frameworks, and application stacks.
  • Experience with Gate, ERP, OCR technology, and terminal IT automation.
  • Application lifecycle and IT Service Management concepts.
  • Good understanding of application programming interfaces, IDEs, and code frameworks. C#, Java, PL-SQL/T-SQL, Active MQ, and Relational DBs/ SQL.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma.

·        Able to build strong working relationships with stakeholders. Must possess empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding, and well-developed communication skills (cross-functional as well as on different levels).

·        Ability to provide leadership, and obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives. Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure (time and resources), and to apply analytical thinking and creative problem-solving to daily tasks. Must be well-organized, punctual, and persistent (personal discipline) with strong internal client service skills.

  • Good understanding of the Container Terminal Operating model
  • Shows credibility with the Terminal leadership team.
  • Experience with Agile principles and methods!
  • Experience with applying WOW (Lean) standards and tooling!
  • Problem Solving sounding experience.
