Typical Day in the Role
- Purpose of the Team: The Vehicle
Dynamics team focuses on the design and physical development of how the
vehicle drives. This sub group focuses specifically splits their time in
office and traveling with the vehicles to different test sites to test the
functions that they work on.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to attributes including - steering,
handling, breaking performance, etc. and how well the vehicle drives.

Candidate Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 3-5 overall years of experience in the
field.
- Degrees or certifications required: BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent
experience, in Mechanical Engineering
- Disqualifiers: Candidates without vehicle dynamics or suspension or
development design experience will not be considered.
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain:
- Specific vehicle dynamics experience for competitors such as General
Motors, Porche, BMW specifically.
- Tire development experience
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting
deadlines and quality.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
1. Minimum 3 years' Experience in tuning several of the following: coil
springs, air springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, bushings, tires, suspension
control software, electric power steering, stability control, torque
vectoring systems, and other dynamics-related control systems
2. Minimum 3 years' Experience in both objective and subjective assessment,
data acquisition and analysis
3. Minimum 3 years automotive experience with a solid understanding of vehicle
dynamics principles
Hard Skills Assessments
- Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: ASAP
- Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 1st
round recruiting screening and a 2nd round technical screening and a final
team panel.
- Required Candidate Preparation: Once candidates go through the 2nd round
assessment, they will need to complete a 3 slide deck presentation which will
be presented to the panel in the 3rd round.
Title: Senior Engineer in Vehicle Dynamics Development
As a Senior Engineer in Vehicle Dynamics Development you will support the
testing, tuning, development and validation of the best riding and handling
vehicles in the world. You will work alongside other development and CAE
engineers, mechanical and software engineers and system owners, key
stakeholders and management across the company, to develop and deliver
world-class suspension, steering, braking, wheel/tire and vehicle dynamics
systems from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and iterate vehicle hardware and software calibrations using
subjective and data-driven processes
- Install robust data acquisition systems on prototype vehicles; create,
perform, analyze, and document test results
- Objective and subjective analysis of attributes, on Client and benchmark
vehicles
- Troubleshoot and document mechanical, electrical, and software problems in
a fast-paced environment
- Work closely with cross-functional teams from across the business to make
efficient, timely, data-driven decisions
- Assist preparation, component upgrades, and maintenance of vehicle dynamics
prototype fleet
- Work with multiple complex projects in a demanding environment
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
- A strong desire to create state-of-the-art engineering products as an
integral part of a very capable team
Qualification:
- 5 or more years of automotive experience with a solid understanding of
vehicle dynamics principles
- Demonstrated ability to deliver vehicles with world-class dynamics
attributes
- Experience in both objective and subjective assessment, data acquisition
and analysis
- Experience in tuning several of the following: coil springs, air springs,
dampers, anti-roll bars, bushings, tires, suspension control software,
electric power steering, stability control, torque vectoring systems, and
other dynamics-related control systems
- Knowledge of the basic principles of ADAMS, CarRealTime, CarMaker, CarSim
or similar
- Understanding of Matlab/Simulink fundamentals
- Familiarity with Python, C++

Education
