Job Description:

A.  DELIVERABLES OR TASKS:

  • Working with the Unit Manager, provide Senior Level Windows Server setup, administration, configurations, and automated implementations.
  • Working with the Unit Manager, assist in planning, design, implementation, and operation of Windows and Virtual infrastructure projects and participate in the specification of business requirements and implementation plans. Assist in supporting State Fund’s Microsoft Windows Server environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
  • Help support State Fund’s VMWare Virtualization environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
  • Responsibility will include but not limited to: Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) infrastructure, MS Orchestrator, Script development, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP infrastructure.
  • Will be assisting with server migrations between on-premise hosts to Amazon AWS.
  • Provide operational support and experience with managing the virtualized infrastructures.
  • Participate in capacity planning and Disaster Recovery
  • Help define, improve promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices
  • Assist and support all development and troubleshoot complex application issues
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to other team resources and to customers
  • Provide infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, system troubleshooting, performance engineering, and optimization and maintenance strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and mentorship to State Fund internal engineering peers as required and lead technical staff responsibilities.
  • Drive requirements and technical due-diligence and infrastructure design.
  • Secures server systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
  • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

 

C. RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Supplier shall ensure that all resources assigned to the project have the minimum skills requirement to render the services in a competent and efficient manner.

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 7+ years related system engineering/Infrastructure and customer support experience.
  • Extensive experience related to security in Microsoft Server 2016 and 2019.
  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise corporate infrastructure design, implementation and troubleshooting,
  • 5+ years with both Microsoft Server 2016 and 2019.
  • 2+ years with Microsoft Server 2022.
  • 5+ years’ experience with VMWare 5.x and 6.x
  • 5+ years’ experience with Active Directory
  • 5+ years supporting Datacenter co-located equipment.
  • 5+ years supporting SCOM.
  • Extensive experience in script design and process automation in infrastructure environments.
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure support.
  • Experience with knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix Operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, networking and security concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to apply them during business impacting incidents.
  • Capable of mentor others and lead by example.
  • Project Management, Problem Solving, People Management.
  • Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in addressing and remediating Windows server and VMware vulnerabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Server Hardening methodologies
  • Extensive knowledge of the use of SCCM to deploy and install Microsoft Security updates

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to track and prioritize several tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

•             Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, IT, or similar disciplines).

•             Microsoft Server Security Certification
