Summary

  • Azure is already in place and set up
  • They started the migration at the beginning of the year and they have migrated about 10% of the databases, they need a PM now because as they move towards the off season they will be migrating databases that have a lot of applications on them.
  • This team sits outside of IT and is known as the data division.
  • While the data division owns the databases, it’s really the developers on the IT side of the business that truly own them, so this PM will be working heavily with the developers to ensure a smooth transition to Azure.
  • This PM will need to be a very good communicator.
  • They will be working with IT Football, IT Business and IT Club Users to transition these database over.
  • Many stakeholders involved and a lot of senior stakeholders because of the size and number of applications that sit on the database
  • This resource should be someone who has migrated SQL databases to Azure
  • 100% remote is fine
  • Project is scheduled for 3 years but the manager believes it will go longer


Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced PM to help the Azure migration project. The estimate length of the project would be 2-3 years. We are migrating all of our on-prem SQL servers and their dependencies to Azure Cloud.



This PM will handle -

1. Lead Azure migration project.

2. Communicate and collaborate with both League and club users, IT and developers on daily production issues.


Technical Keywords –

1. Azure SQL Managed Instance and VMs

2. Azure Blob Storage/Container and file, ADLS2

3. Azure data factory(ADF) and Databricks

4. SQL transactional replication

5. Azure Analysis Service and CUBEs

6. SQL SSIS/SSRS/SSAS


A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum hourly wage for this position is $60/hr. to $70/hr.
