Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
Designs, develops, builds, and implements new cooling system components, products, or technologies.
The main function of a cooling design engineer is to apply the principles of mechanical engineering design, development, testing, and evaluation of the hardware and systems that make cooling systems work. A typical design engineer analyzes customer cooling requirements, and then designs, tests, and develops hardware to meet those needs.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field required.
- 3-4 years’ experience required.
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Knowledge of cooling systems technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Generates specifications for parts or components with Creo CAD software.
- Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
- Uses Creo CAD to perform intermediate drafting such as wire frames, solid objects and array of objects, including but not limited to fabrications, castings and modular assemblies.
- Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
- Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
